You know that the Doctor Who Magazine comic later explained that Davros used these Daleks to create his army prior to 'Remembrance of the Daleks.' He'd been rescued from Skaro by the Sixth Doctor, who dropped hints about the Hand of Omega ... thus setting up the events for 'Remembrance' -- all planned when the Seventh Doctor went back to his previous incarnation and talked him into it.
